Requirements and Ministry Standards

Young people learn mostly by example. As a mentor you must be a safe person and healthy role model who displays Christian morals, refraining from any kind of addictive behavior, or inappropriate actions. You must agree with our statement of beliefs and be attending your church regularly. Ignite Youth is committed to providing safe mentoring matches. To become a mentor you would proceed with the following steps:

• Attend an Orientation/Training meeting (this is informative if you are not yet sure)
• Complete an application
• Provide four reference forms (found in the application packet)
• Be fingerprinted for FBI national background check
• Receive a call from us to set up an appointment for an interview
